XBOX gamers looking for a good game of pool need look no further than Activision's HUSTLE: DETROIT STREETS. HUSTLE delivers with a good variety of tables and venues to play in while presenting realistic pool physics and graphics. The story of HUSTLE is a fairly common one. Players create a character from scratch and begin working their way up the hierarchy of Detroit pool halls, hustling and winning as much cash as possible. The storyline is pretty filled out, and players will find the cut scenes do actually add to the game, unlike some sports games where the cut scenes aren't very important. The venues and tables themselves come in a variety of different looks, including some tables with graphics on them. The crowds, too, are well-done, reacting to tricky shots and cheering or booing as each game plays out. The pool dynamics and physics are well done, also, with easy to pick up controls and realistic gameplay. The gameplay mostly focuses on the story mode where players work to become the best pool hustler in Detroit. Some of the tables do allow friendly matches, which is HUSTLE's answer to quick play. Two-player multiplayer mode is also available. HUSTLE shouldn't disappoint long time pool players, and newcomers will be able to pick up the game and quickly learn the rules thanks to the game's learning curve.
